WEST BEND – A statewide panel of media has released this year’s Wisconsin Associated Press all-state football team.

This year’s player of the year is Edgar High School quarterback Justin Sinz.

The 6-foot-5 senior helped lead the Edgar Wildcats to WIAA Division 6 championship with a 46-7 win over Eau Claire Regis.

Sinz has received a long-list of post season accolades including Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Offensive Player of the Year.

The AP selected Burlington Catholic Central’s Tom Aldrich as coach of the year.

Aldrich led his Hilltoppers to a WIAA Division 7 state championship with a 27-15 win over Chippewa Falls McDonell Central.

This is also the first time in Wisconsin high school football history a girl has made the AP all-state team as Waunakee's Kassy McCarthy was selected a second-team all-state kicker.

McCarthy finished the season 72-for-72 on point after attempts; she kicked four conversions in the WIAA Division 2 state championship as Waunakee beat Kimberly  34-21.
