Flyway Conference girls game take GOTW
Lomira and KM Lutheran win 50 percent of fan vote

The fans have spoken and the Game of the Week for the second week of February is a Wisconsin Flyway Conference girls basketball showdown.

Lomira (9-0, 15-1), ranked third in last week’s Associated Press Division 3 poll, will host the Game of the Week when Kettle Moraine Lutheran (7-2, 11-3).

The Lions are led by three of four Neitzel quadruplet sophomores. Of them, Natalie is the leader of the pack, scoring 14 points per game and is the leader of the team. She also gets it done on defense by averaging three steals per game.

Emily Neitzel adds 9.6 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game while Allison Neitzel pours in 8.6 ppg and 8.2 rebounds per game.

They are not all Neitzels as Erin Connell adds 7.9 points per game and pulls down 8.1 rebounds per game.

The Chargers don’t have a player averaging in double figures, but what they do have is balance. Three players average over 6.5 points per game in Jessi Nick (6.7 ppg), Laura Zeamer (6.9) and Michelle Dunnington (7.5 ppg).

There are three more Chargers that score more than four points per game.

This game got 50 percent of the vote and beat out a Trailways Conference crossover game between the top-ranked team in Division 4, Randolph (15-0) and Green Lake (15-1) on Tuesday night.

Both games should be great. Be sure to check back throughout tomorrow for information on the games as the southern part of the state is expected to get hit by a strong winter storm.
