MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee Public Schools have issued a weather update as the national weather service is forecasting about 10 inches of snow.
MPS communications director Roseann St. Aubin said some schools will dismiss early today and all after-school activities are cancelled.
"There will be early bus dismissal for first tier schools. Schools that normally dismiss at approximately 2:30 p.m. will dismiss bus students at 1:55 p.m. Buses should be loaded at that time. Walkers should be dismissed at the regular time," said St. Aubin.
"Parents who pick up their children could pick up at any time. We are cancelling transportation for all after-school activities."
All afternoon and evening recreation/interscholastic activities are cancelled. All professional development activities or meetings are cancelled. All parent activities are also cancelled.
Coaches, athletic directors and school administrators across the rest of the state are keeping a close eye on the weather as heavy snow may force a lot of basketball games to be cancelled.
